COMPLAINT THAT COLD FOOD IS SERVED TO STUDENTS AND SOME PACKAGED FOODS ARE EXPIRED.
BECAUSE THE FOOD SUPPLIER, KANKAKEE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IS ON SPRING BREAK, COLD LUNCHES WERE DELIVERED AT THE END OF LAST WEEK. FOOD WAS DELIVERED COLD AND IS HELD UNDER REFRIGERATION UNTIL SERVICE. SEVERAL EXPIRED PREPACKAGED CHEESE STICKS WERE FOUND. IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED IF THE DATE ON THE PACKAGING WAS A 'BEST BY' OR A 'USE BY' DATE. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THESE CHEESE STICKS NOT BE SERVED. NO ADDITIONAL FOLLOW UP IS REQUIRED FOR THESE ITEMS. |
